Who I am and What I stand for

  • I have practiced both in hospital and community practice for 30 years. I have worked on an oncology ward, I’ve been a staff pharmacist and pharmacy manager. I have been a pharmacy owner for 25 years and I know what pharmacists can do to create better health in our community.
  • I want to advocate for the safety of all Albertans who receive pharmacy services. Our Standards of Practice are well crafted to guide pharmacists and regulated pharmacy technicians to deliver safe and ethical pharmacy services. I am concerned that not all of our citizens are under the care of practitioners who are regulated by ACP’s Standards of Practice.
  • I want to ensure that the delivery of clinical pharmacy services continues to be a highly effective means of delivering meaningful and sustainable health services to our community.
  • I believe that this is the renaissance for the practice of pharmacy in Alberta. The scope of practice here is the envy of the country if not the world. I want to ensure that as a profession we can continue to deliver excellence in both clinical services and professionalism.
  • I believe that when pharmacists practice holistic patient assessments there is an improvement in the experience and the outcome for the patient. Pharmacists and regulated pharmacy technicians are incredibly well suited to create relationships with our communities to be key participants in improving the health of Albertans through the provision of professional services as well as actively engaging patients in health maintenance behaviors.
