Washington Jackson Redus - and with second wife "Sally" Cross and son Frank

Washington Jackson Redus (James, James, James, James) was born in Alabama on
May 6, 1842.  He married first Mary Elizabeth Mahan, April 14, 1861 in
Lowndes County, Mississippi.  According to the Missouri 1890 Census of Union
Veterans and Widows, Wash served in the Union Army during the war, Private, C
1, Alabama Calvary, Feb 1863, to September 1863.  His brother, David R. Redus
and brother-in-law, Henry Mahan, served in the same unit.  After the war,
Wash took his family to Tennessee and Illinois before settling in Ripley Co,
Missouri.  It was there that he married his second wife, Sarah Clydie Cross.  The
marriage date was June 10, 1895.  He is listed in the Missouri censuses as a
farmer.  He was 84 at the time of his death on July 22, 1926, and is buried at
Doniphan, Ripley County, Missouri.
